When did you start your influencer journey? Why?
I officially took on the title of model/influencer in January of 2018.
Around November 2017 I started modeling for a friend who has a boutique and it was just for fun because I have always loved being in front of the camera!
One of my post started to get a lot of recognition and I realized that I had a lane of my own. The average IG model is known to look a certain type of way with the super photoshopped body and the fake booties.
I felt that being a woman who is not any of the those things just mentioned, but still being curvy, confident, and stylish with my natural body gave me a lane of girls to represent.
The average women isn’t this super perfect woman and I fell I can be an influence to them to show that we can still be just as ‘popping’ as anyone else.
And that our confidence is whats going to break the norm of societies view on beauty.
Why do you think social media is important to incorporate into a market strategy?
Currently, just about 90% of a companies marketing can be done via social media, online ads, emailing list etc.
Having the right influencer to promote your brand on their platform is a major key to seeing fast results in getting more traffic to your site which then generate sales.
Not just any influencer is rite for any product. Make sure that the insights of the page is taken into consideration when choosing an influencer.
With the right faces promoting your brand, you won’t need much more advertising.
What social platform holds your biggest audience? (IG. Twitter. Facebook. Personal Blog.) Why?
Currently, Instagram has my biggest following.
This is mostly because I was limiting myself to just IG. I have recently opened my facebook page and started to be a little bit more active on Twitter.
I believe IG is my preferred platform because of convenience. It is always going to have that traffic to your page when you post.
What attracts your audience to your platform?
I believe being relatable; it’s one of the main things that attracts my audience.
I always keep my content organic and try to show my personality in everything I post from the picture to the caption.
For my female following I believe my style attracts most of them. I get many messages from girls with similar body types that tell me how much I inspire them with my outfits.
What are two of the most positive moments you’ve experienced with your brand this year?
Reaching 100k on Instagram was definitely an exciting accomplishment.
I have been able to work with huge brands that have featured me on their platform. I’ve also been able to start a vlog from the exposure I got where I plan on focusing on traveling, health, and fashion.
I found that a lot of people loved when I vlogged my trip to Dubai, so I decided to share more of my life with my followers!
Have you been able to monetize your brand this year either through your social media account or another business model?
Yes, I am now able to make money from my social media accounts through promotion as well as being able to start my own business.
Starting my own business would have to be my biggest accomplishment because that will bring me finical freedom eventually.
You always want to put yourself in a position to make long term money over momentary money.
How did you recover from a discouraging moment you’ve had with your brand this year?
How do you plan out the content for your brand’s social media account?
When planning out the content for my brand I always visualize the page first.
I want the aesthetics of the page to dope! Captions are important as w2ell and I usually like to have really relatable ones.
Captions are good for drawing people in to your page so you want it be intriguing. Once you have someone reading you’ve got them in a little more than just scrolling past your post.
How do you plan on increasing your visibility over the next couple of months?
What advice would you give to someone who wants to be an influencer?
Be YOURSELF! Originality is so important when trying to get your brand to be noticed.
So many people are all doing the same things and that makes it hard to really be noticed. Another piece of advice is to be consistent.
Making sure that you don’t give up or slow down after you have a few post that don’t do as well as you thought it would/should.
One thing I realized after some of the post I made were not getting the insights that I thought they would is that not everything you think will take off like you imagine. Instead, the most random post that you didn’t even put in that category will take off and go viral.
You really just never know what will do it for you. SO BE CONSISTENT AND NEVER GIVE UP!
